Into Leon's Den
_____________________

Leon Scott Kennedy couldn’t believe it. THIS is what they called him in for? Leon was a Government Agent with short brown hair, and wore a black t-shirt and jeans. He had finished a mission a while back that had him saving the President's Daughter from Los Gandos, a group infected with the Los Plagas virus, in Pueblo Village, Spain. Six years earlier, he had escaped from Raccoon City, a city infected with the T-Virus.

He was standing in front of one of his bosses, the highers up in the government organization.

“You want to use me as a guinea pig for a new Virus? Isn’t that the same thing that Umbrella’s done with the various cities and islands?”, he protested.

“Leon, we assure you, this won’t turn you into some sort of undead monster. We’ve already tested it. It does have some.. ‘side effects’ , but they’re nothing that you wouldn’t be able to handle.”

“....”

“And what are the side effects? And what does the virus do?”

“It’s more of a vaccine. It keeps one from being able to be infected by the T-Virus, G-Virus, or Los Plagas Virus. It’ll be administered to all of our agents eventually. You’re just the first one that will recieve it, because you’re the first one who encountered such viruses.”

“...And if it works like it’s supposed to, you said you’d give it to my friends, right?”

“Yes. Chris, Jill, Rebecca, Barry, Claire and Lucia will each receive doses. As well as anyone they specify deserves it.”

“What about Sherry?”

“As soon as we can locate Miss Birkin, she’ll get a dosage too. You know as well as I do that she was taken from our agents by Wesker.”

“Don’t remind me. Claire’s already pissed at me for that.”

“Well?”

"If you'll just come this way, Mr. Kennedy, well show you to the room were the dosages are given." as the scientist lead Leon down the hallway, he wondered to himself what the side efects were, and what they did. "Here we are, Mr. Kennedy, now, if you'll just lie on that table over there, we will get started."

“Don’t horror movies usually start out this way?”, Leon asked.

“Not as often as they start off in deserted cities full of Zombies,” the scientist added.

Leon had to admit, the man had him there.
Reluctantly, Leon went to lie down on the operating table. He had to admit he was nervous. He hadn’t had the best time with viruses. He had lost his first job because of one. Shaking off the uneasy feeling, he waited patiently for the scientist to get back with the vaccine.

Leon had gone over what had lead to this in his mind a few times. His last mission was a success, but only because of intervention by Ada Wong. Why does she still help him? Does she care about him the way he cares about her?

As the scientist got back, he had around four or five syringes, of dusty yellow liquid. alright Mr. Kennedy, before we inject you, were going to have to sedate you for a couple or hours. "Why?" "well," the scientist stuttered its to check for any other diseases you may have in your body, if the two collide on injection, the liquid will not work, and possibly cause you harm."

“Is that alright with you, Mr. Kennedy?” now Leon was more nervous than he was before, “Yeah, I guess so,” he muttered, before lying back down, "alright, Mr. Kennedy, put this mask on, and breathe deeply,” . as He started breathing through the sedative gas, he went to sleep hoping that he didn’t have to remove any clothing"

After a while, Leon had lost consciousness. His dreams were filled with strange visions of the African Savannah, for some reason. Even though he’d never even BEEN to Africa. In the dreams he was a Lion, of sorts. A Man-line leading a large family of various other creatures…

Back in the conscious world...

“You did tell Mr. Kennedy here about the side effects.”

“Yes, I told him there were side effects.”

“Did you say what they WERE?”

“No. Do you think he’d have said yes otherwise?”

“He might have.”

“Oh?”

“Especially with our new findings. You’ll see.”

Leon woke up, his head was still fuzzy, from the gas. “Alright, Mr. Kennedy, here are your doses.”

The scientist pumped a syringe, in his chest, his legs, arms, and his backside. “Is all this really necessary?” Leon asked, looking at the small holes in his shirt.

All the scientist said was, “.....yes.” and walked out the door.

Leon saw the silhouette come behind a tinted window/wall, and join the other two. A voice on the intercom; "Mr. Kennedy, you may feel somewhat uncomfortable, but please try to bear it"

"What does he mean by that?" he wondered to himself, suddenly, Leon got quite dizzy.

Suddenly, his muscles all started to burn. This was probably the most pain he’s been in since... well, since his last mission, actually. But this was the most extreme pain he ever had that wasn’t mission related. What were they doing to him?

Leon’s Hair started to grow at an accelerated pace. It grew long and around his head like a mane. Of course, he didn’t know this at the time. The pain was far too excruciating for him to notice something like his hair.

The pain was too much, it was burning him even,  especially his chest. He ripped off his shirt with surprising ease, but too no avail, he was still burning. He fell to his knees and looked at his hands - his nails got a fair bit darker and longer,  what were they doing to him? He should have never trusted the scientists! His jeans started to tear a bit, ‘no, not this,’ he thought.

“But... This is impossible... right?” he continued, as he looked at himself... Suddenly, a tawny furred tail ripped it’s way out of his jeans. It was tipped with a brown tuft of fur. Then it started to sway slowly left and right. “…I’m… Changing into… A lion?”

The fur started to spread over his arms, and he could do nothing but watch in horror. His muscles started to expand, ripping his pants even more. Also, his shoes had ripped to shreds, and he could see his feet were now three toed claws, and in digigrade position. It was like something out of a B-Horror Flick!

His head was suddenly in with pain, he could feel his ears pointing, and migrating to the top of his head, his face started to bulge, looking cross-eyed, he could see the tip of his nose/muzzle, after the pain was over, he was greeted by an itchiness of fur growing on his face. and that’s when it happened, due to his legs reshaping and bulking up, his pants finally burst.

With a final blast of pain, Leon let out a mighty roar, and fell to his knees. The transformation was done. Why had they done this to him? ....And for that matter, why isn’t he angry? He somehow feels as if... As if the Vaccine had released a part of him that lay dormant for years.

Was this leonine form always buried deep inside, finally brought loose by the virus? Or was it simply an embodiment of some of his traits? As he pondered these questions, he could hear the door open...

Leon’s hearing could pick up the turning of the doorknob, no matter how silent, and the opening of a door. Instantly, he turned around. Both his boss and the chief scientist who had created the vaccine/virus and administered it entered the room. Leon stood at attention, his tail swaying back and forth slowly.

"I see you found of the ‘side effects’ Mr. Kennedy" the scientist said, "Yes, I did" He replied, Leon was very glad to see that he could still talk. "well, the thing is Leon, we don’t really have clothing fitted for you yet...So, do you mind waiting, while we get you fitted?"

"No sir, I don’t mind at all"

“I’m just wondering, is the ‘side effect’ always a werelion? Just so I’ll know how to recognize my friends when they get their dosage.”

“No. It varies from person to person.”

“And the test subject turned out being...”

“...a werebear, yes.”

“Thought there was something significant about that comment.”

A while later, Leon was fitted for a new outfit.

“Sir, I do have one question.”

“Yes, Leon, what is it?” his boss asked.

“Is this form... permanent? I like it and all but, it would be kind of hard to go on missions looking like this.”

“You’ll be trapped in that form for a month,” Responded the lead scientist, “But after a month in that form, you should be able to switch between it and your original human form. Changed slightly of course, so there will be less of a need to switch clothing every time. Also, before you ask, it is not contagious.”

“That’s good. Wouldn’t want HIM getting any more power.”

“Speaking of which, this form gives you a huge boost in your strength, you’re at least 10x as strong as you were as a human. And your human form will be 5x as strong as before.

Everything was as the doctor had said. Soon the HCF would have a group of superhuman wereanimals to watch out for.
